I think this night on the mountain has become one of my favorite May evenings. Despite the wind-induced allergies, there is little to compare to tromping through the wilderness, camera in hand, husband and son traipsing ahead. It was a long night, with my child kept up well past his bedtime as he helped to hunt for frogs and toads and whatever else could be found. It was a breezy night as the wind whipped through our tent, pulling tent pegs loose in the process. And it was an early morning as we pulled ourselves out of our sleeping bags, racing the sun, hoping to find the best view of the sunrise before the rising rays of the sun found us.
